“Does not add up” no longer appears on statements that do
The check on an income statement compared total income less total expenses with the net profit, so a statement with a tax line could be marked as not adding up when every figure was right. It now follows the statement the way it is printed, from total income through each profit line to the net profit, allowing for tax and exceptional items, and marks the line where the figures stop agreeing.

Figures printed the European way
Accounts that print 305.970 for three hundred and five thousand, with a comma before the decimals, came back a thousand times too small. They are now read as printed.

Statements printed in two halves across a page
Some annual reports continue a statement in a second block beside the first. Lines from the two halves could be merged into one row. Each half is now read in turn.

Scanned pages read more accurately, and faster
PDFs are now read by a newer model. On a scanned half-year results document that used to come back with a few misread figures, every figure now matches the printed statements, and a scanned PDF typically finishes in under half the time it took before. The second OCR reading that flagged figures to check has been retired, as it now disagreed with figures that were right.

Statements printed side by side
Annual reports that print two statements on one page, with one set of accounts, could come back with the line items or the previous year's column missing, or labelled as consolidated. They now come back as standalone statements with every line and both years.

Pricing, Sign in and Get started in the header are now each a single link, so the Tab key stops on each once rather than twice.

Clearer Extract button and upload area
The Extract from PDF button, and the buttons to create an engagement and save to one, are now the solid brown of every other main action instead of a faint grey. The upload area keeps a visible border and turns light brown under the pointer rather than fading into the page.

Buttons and menu items across the site now show the hand pointer on hover. The developer guide no longer runs off the side of a phone screen, and small links on the sign-in page and in the footer are easier to tap.

Ind AS statements on Schedule III Division II
Statements drawn up under Ind AS are now placed line by line on Schedule III Division II, with the same footing checks and Unmapped section as Division I. The division is read from the statements' own wording, and you can change it when you save to an engagement.

CMA data from an engagement
An engagement now builds a CMA workbook for a bank: the operating statement, balance sheet analysis, holding levels, maximum permissible bank finance (Tandon I, Tandon II or the turnover method, chosen in the workbook), funds flow and a cash flow statement, from every saved year. Estimate and projection years are left blank for you, and every total, ratio and assessment works itself out as you fill them.

Engagements: a client's years side by side
Create an engagement for a client, choose Save to an engagement when you upload their PDFs, and save each reviewed extraction to it. The engagement builds a comparatives workbook with every saved year on Schedule III, each column's checks, and any figure a later year's accounts restated. Only the extractions you save are kept, until you delete them.

Continue a long PDF from where it stopped
When a PDF runs past your page balance, the result now offers Continue from page N. It reads only the pages from there on, as far as your balance goes, and only those are counted, so the pages already extracted are never paid for twice.

Fairer page counts for scanned PDFs
A scanned PDF's page count is now compared with what text PDFs of the same length actually cost to process, so short scans no longer count as plain text and long ones count less. A scanned PDF never counts as more than three times its pages.

A PDF longer than your pages left is extracted as far as they go
On a paid plan, a document with more pages than your balance used to fail once it finished. Now herodocu extracts it up to the pages you have left, counting any overage your spend cap allows, and tells you which pages that covered and how to extract the rest.

Overage billing works once your included pages are used
With overage billing on, new PDF uploads were still refused once the month's included pages ran out. They now go ahead, up to your spend cap.

Scanned PDFs are read from their page images
A PDF with no selectable text, such as a scan or a file saved with "Print to PDF", used to be turned away. herodocu now finds the statement pages and reads the figures from images of them, and tells you when it has, so you can check them against the source. On a paid plan a scanned PDF counts as more pages than it has, in proportion to the extra processing, and the result says what it counted as.

Reconciliation flags now fire when they should
On an uploaded PDF, the add-up checks are computed on the page itself, so a subtotal that does not match the rows above it is highlighted as you look at it, and every statement says whether it was checked, failed, or could not be checked. The Excel, CSV and Sheets exports agree with what you see.

Pick light or dark from the header, or let herodocu follow your device. The choice is remembered on your own machine and applies before the page draws, so there is no flash of the wrong colours.

Emailed sign-in links, password resets and Google sign-in carry your session in the page address. That part of the address is now removed before anything else on the page runs.
