Continue a long PDF from where it stopped
When a PDF runs past your page balance, the result now offers Continue from page N. It reads only the pages from there on, as far as your balance goes, and only those are counted, so the pages already extracted are never paid for twice.

Fairer page counts for scanned PDFs
A scanned PDF's page count is now compared with what text PDFs of the same length actually cost to process, so short scans no longer count as plain text and long ones count less. A scanned PDF never counts as more than three times its pages.

A PDF longer than your pages left is extracted as far as they go
On a paid plan, a document with more pages than your balance used to fail once it finished. Now herodocu extracts it up to the pages you have left, counting any overage your spend cap allows, and tells you which pages that covered and how to extract the rest.

Overage billing works once your included pages are used
With overage billing on, new PDF uploads were still refused once the month's included pages ran out. They now go ahead, up to your spend cap.

Scanned PDFs are read from their page images
A PDF with no selectable text, such as a scan or a file saved with "Print to PDF", used to be turned away. herodocu now finds the statement pages and reads the figures from images of them, and tells you when it has, so you can check them against the source. On a paid plan a scanned PDF counts as more pages than it has, in proportion to the extra processing, and the result says what it counted as.

Reconciliation flags now fire when they should
On an uploaded PDF, the add-up checks are computed on the page itself, so a subtotal that does not match the rows above it is highlighted as you look at it, and every statement says whether it was checked, failed, or could not be checked. The Excel, CSV and Sheets exports agree with what you see.

Pick light or dark from the header, or let herodocu follow your device. The choice is remembered on your own machine and applies before the page draws, so there is no flash of the wrong colours.

Put two to four companies in one table — revenue, margins, cash flow and balance sheet from each one’s latest filing — and export it to Excel or CSV. Each company costs one lookup.

Sign-in links no longer expose your session to page analytics
Emailed sign-in links, password resets and Google sign-in carry your session in the page address. That part of the address is now removed before anything else on the page runs.

An email when your PDF is ready
Close the page while a long PDF is extracting and it still finishes. We email you when the workbook is ready, or if the document could not be extracted.
