Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of herodocu.com (the "Service"), operated by Herodocu ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of the Service

The Service extracts financial statement data from public company filings (via the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR database) and user-uploaded PDF documents, and presents the extracted data in structured form, including downloadable spreadsheet output where applicable.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

3. Subscription Plans, Billing, and Free-Tier Usage

• Free tier. We offer a limited number of ticker-based (EDGAR) lookups per calendar month at no charge, displayed on-page only. We also offer a limited number of PDF-upload extractions with full downloadable output per calendar month at no charge. No payment method is required for the free tier.
• Paid plans. Paid subscription plans, their features, and their pricing are described on our pricing page. Where recurring billing is available for your payment method, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or yearly, as chosen at checkout — until you cancel, billed through our third-party payment processor under the recurring payment (e-mandate) authorization you give at checkout. Where it is not available, your plan runs for the term you paid for and then stops unless you buy another.

• Usage limits. We may enforce technical limits on free-tier usage, including by IP address and device, to prevent abuse. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts found to be circumventing these limits.

4. Accuracy of Extracted Data — Please Read Carefully

The Service obtains financial data in two ways. For ticker lookups, where the SEC publishes structured statement data for a filing, figures are read directly from that data. Otherwise — including for every uploaded document — figures are extracted using AI, and the AI-extracted output is checked with automated reconciliation checks against totals disclosed in the source document. Neither method is error-free: structured SEC data reflects what the filer submitted and may be presented differently from the filed document, and AI extraction may produce incomplete, inaccurate, or improperly categorized data, particularly when processing non-standardized or lower-quality source documents.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• Extracted output is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, accounting, tax, credit, or legal advice;
• You are solely responsible for independently verifying any extracted figures against the original source document before relying on them for any financial, investment, lending, valuation, or business decision;
• Where the Service flags a figure as an "unidentified reconciling difference" or otherwise indicates incomplete extraction, that figure should be treated as unverified and confirmed manually before use;
• We do not warrant that the Service's output is complete, accurate, or fit for any particular purpose, and disclaim liability for decisions made in reliance on Service output, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service to process documents you do not have the right to upload; attempt to circumvent usage limits through multiple accounts, automated access, or falsified information; reverse-engineer or scrape the Service; or use the Service in any manner that violates applicable law.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the documents you upload and the extracted output generated from them. We retain all rights to the Service itself, including its underlying software, extraction methodology, and any improvements derived from aggregated, de-identified usage data.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including our AI processing providers, our payment processor, and our cloud hosting providers, and retrieves public data from the SEC's EDGAR system. We are not responsible for the availability or performance of these third-party services.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on extracted data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or suspected fraudulent or abusive use, with or without notice where warranted by the circumstances.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes arising from them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangalore, India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
